• 1/3 cup of instant oats
  • 1/2 cup of water
  • 1/2 diced medium-large apple
  • 1/3 cup of Vanilla Greek yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons of honey
  • *1/4 or 1/3 cup of favorite milk

You need carbs for energy and protein to feel full in the morning. This is a great, quick recipe to start your day with a sweet kick of energy.

Heat instant oats and water in the microwave for about 90 seconds.  Then put the oatmeal, diced apple with its skin, Greek yogurt, and honey into the blender.  You may want to add 1/3 cup of your favorite milk to make it a bit smoother.  I find that vanilla soy milk complements the yogurt perfectly.

Blend on a medium to high setting until smooth and serve.

You can use whichever flavor apple you like best.  I chose green because I like how the sour apple and sweet honey taste together.  Gala or red apples will make the meal a little sweeter.  You can also add a teaspoon of cinnamon when serving.

This is a 5 minute breakfast that’s not too heavy on your tummy, but packed with nutrition to get you going.
